290x temp question

Right now I have PCS+ 290x with fan speed set @40% and max temp is 68c. I was wondering if I could set my fan speed speed even lower with a hit to temperatures.

What are "good" acceptable temp ranges for PCS+ 290x? My endgame is a silent gaming pc. Thanks in advance.

Well seen as the 290 series cards were designed to be able to run anywhere up to 95 degrees and sit at 95 degrees constantly while gaming. You could set a fan profile to curve the fan speed down to keep temps around 75-80 degrees and that's perfectly acceptable temps.

Tho tbh 40% should be near silent tbh!

^ no i bumped it up an extra 50 mhz on the core to 1100. Left the voltages the same.

my fan curve is 20% to 50c then 40%. I feel i can improve that without too big a hit on the temp. I'll see what temps I get at 34%.

One thing you have to be careful on is that although custom coolers cool the GPU much better than the reference cooler, they generally don't cool the vrm1 as good as the reference cooler...so you'd need to keep and eye on that, rather than just assuming it will be ok to let the GPU go all the way up to 85C+, at which point the vrm1 could be hitting over 100C...

Thanks, good point. I do notice that currently my VRM1 are hitting mid/high 80s. I have a noctua 140mm exhaust fan sucking out the hot air...
