As the title states, i've got one of my 290X's with a NZXT G10 bracket and a Corsair H55 on it. But now it's suffering from some pretty serious sag.

It's the second GPU in my system along with my 290X Lightning.

How can I stop it from sagging, I can't find any backplate that would fit over the plate on the back of the NZXT G10?

Ideally I want something that also looks aesthetically pleasing if possible.

Thanks

I'd recommend one of these.

I'd recommend one of these.

Good luck buying one, theyre like hens teeth. :p

The only other one i know off is made by a pc oem called puget in america, it goes into the case pci slots and props the card up. Costs $13 or so, problem is they only do priority shipping on it which is around $70 or so with no cheaper options. :( A hell of a lot neater than that jack thing as well, just a shame nobody else seems to make them like this.

Good point Gerard, just had a look and couldn't find one either. I'm surprised there's not an alternative.

EDIT

There is an alternative, looks nice too.

Especially with the size of third party coolers these days. People always assume that a backplate stops the card sagging, but really its usually thin aluminium and that can sag after a while. Some cards like the new asus strix have a piece of metal along the pcb edge which makes it rigid along with the backplate.

Thats really smart looking

Bit of a different approach as well from the usual ones that are essentially a piece of tube, this is more out of the way. Just surprised there's not more options available for video cards with all these mad coolers they have now. You pretty much have to apply for planning permission to get something like the zotac amp extreme into your case :p

That is a really neat solution and easy to manufacture on a mass scale. OCUK should do this as the $70 shipping is of putting, however for $13 it is great value.

Doesn't help, but you should have got a corsair hg10 bracket :-)

I've waited for ages to get the newly released corsair n780 bracket for my 780Ti's and corsair H55. Bracket/ shroud Runs the entire length of the card, acting like a backplate so no sag, and it has heat pads and pre installed fan blowing over and cooling all the VRMs etc. great stuff.

I looked into the NZXT brackets and decided to give them a miss due to the lack of VRM cooling. Didn't realise sagging would be an issue too.
