295 GTX to 7950

Morning all

After years of being a nvidia fan I have decided to take the plunge to an AMD card and have a couple of questions (mostly because im fed up with the driver crashes)
1. Instalation. Im planning to download driver sweeper, remove the nvidia drivers- reboot into safe mode- run driver sweeper- reboot and install the latest catalyst drivers....is this the best way?

2.I have a G15 keyboard and like to have my temps running on the screen (GPU temp,speed,FPS and CPU temp and speed), I currently use riva tuner to do this, does this work with AMD cards or do I need another piece of software?

I would rather not have to do a complete re-install of windows but I will if I have to.

I don't know the answer to point 2, but with regard to installation simply uninstall the nVidia drivers via control panel then power down your pc. Remove the 295 and insert the 7950. Then, boot up your pc and install the latest AMD drivers.

You shouldn't have to use programs like driver sweeper; these can sometimes cause more problems than they solve. Yes, I have used them, but rarely and only as a last resort.

Also, reinstalling windows isn't needed for 99.9% of everyday situations. I would only do that if everything went wrong, e.g. a worst case scenario.

MSI Afterburner works with my 7950 and G15 so I'd imagine Rivatuner would too.

I've switched between ATI and Nvidia in the past and not had a problem, not needed to reinstall the OS or use driversweeper etc. As noted above, as long as you uninstall the old Nvidia stuff you should be fine.

AMD seem to get quite a lot of flack for their drivers, can only speak from my personal experience but not had any issues with my 5850 since I got it.
