2fa is there a correct way

of setting up 2fa using another authenticator?

basically i want to move away from 1 authenticator and use another 1 is there a certain way i have to do this?

2FA in general is a pita imo, although necessary these days .
Have you tried "Authy" as I found that to be better than Google authenticator.

I wouldn't recommend Authy as they had a security breach earlier this year. They also don't make it easy to migrate to/from other 2FA apps. 2FAS or Ente would be my choices, and they make it easy for you to import/export a backup file if you wish to move to another 2FA app. Bitwarden offers 2FA too but I haven't tested it as I use it for passwords and don't want all my eggs in one basket.

What's the current authenticator app you're using? Does it have an export option? If not then you'll need to manually go to each site to disable 2FA, and then re-enable in the new 2FA app.

Then sadly you'll have to do it manually, there's no way to export from Microsoft authenticator.
