Is a 2 gb single graphics card equivalent to a 1gb gfx card in xfire?
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. generally a single 2GB card will give you more flexabilty with max settings, if you go for one with decent speeds. if you go for 2 really quick 1GB cards then it would outperform it, but struggle with AA and that. (i think).
also, not all games have good CF/SLI support/scaling, so in my opinion if money allows, buy a single decent 2GB card.
i made the mistake of getting a second HD6850 and regret it. i wish i had put that money to one side and saved for a decent single 2GB card.
i would save for 1 card you will be a lot happier in the long run.
I disagree, two 6870's would pwn a 6970/6950, and I've had no problems with my 6870 CF.
Do you mean 2x 1 gb hd 6870 would pawn 1x 2 gb 6950/6970?
i get a lot of stuttering in games i play, and i find that i have issues with AA (and equivilant) settings too. i dont know if its the 1GB of Vram or the lack of decent CF support.
What resolution?
That's what I said...
Was only trying to clarify..)
Well i suppose i commited myself to a 6870 crossfire now since i bought a power supply to support it. But i wont mind having a 6970/6950 and just do the crossfire when i have saved enough money for another one..
1920x1080.
most games are bordering on 800-1gb of memory usage at that resolution with 4x AA on my nvidia cards that lets you monitor ram usage.
anything above 4x AA and your probably feeling the lack of texture memory
wierd something dodgy going on there i reckon , have tou tried disabling crossfire and see wether the performance is better?
