2GB RAM

Hi,

Someone has offered me a GB of Corsair XMS3200 Pro DDR for £40.

I know this will help in BF2 - at the moment when I have been in BF2 for a while over 1GB of RAM gets used and I started lagging quite bad

I just wondered what difference I'll see in other games and, mainly, what difference I'll see in Windows?

General windows usage wont be affected much but when you start getting into memory hogging applications like Photoshop or 3D programs then you'll really start to see the benefit. Most games will benefit with faster loading times and better performance.

BF2 will probably be the game that most benefits for me... I know my PC can handle the game on high settings, but I have to have it on medium else my PC starts paging

At the moment I'm just unsure if I should be going for it... I'm not a huge gamer and it's not every day that I use programs like Photoshop.

But then again, if I did get 2GB it'd make this PC perfect for the rest of the time I have it.

For £40 you can't really go wrong, it'll breath a bit more life into your system
