I have 2gb ddr1 geil value ram, would finding another geil value 1 gig module on mm help me with game stutter do you think? Getting pretty sick of lag spikes despite me upgrade from x1950pro card to a hd 3850. Sure the fps improved but lag spikes still noticeable. Also if i got 3gb of geil value ram would it be still dual channel for the first original 2 1gb slots?

Download it ;)

PDF on manufacturers website usually.

At a guess, I'd say it would drop to single channel on the VIA chipset.

Press ctrl+alt+delete after playing the offendinding game. Go to the performance tab and find the peak commit charge. This is the total amount of RAM used, if its greater than 2000 then you're using all your RAM and paging is occuring which is causing the lag.

3GBs will drop you to single channel and 2T so will cripple your memory bandwidth considerably but you may find the lack of paging makes up for the lower bandwidth.
