2gb to 3gb??

im planing on buying some more ram in the not to distant future (tomorrow lol!)
but cant really stretch to 2gb im really just grabbing a gig while i have some pennys in the account.
what i want to know is, is this worth my while as added another gig to the 2 gig i have will cancel my dual channel. will i notice any performance hit or will it still be nippier with the 3gb in.
im doing this because i want to jump over to vista now to enjoy bioshock on its release to its full in dx10 mode but have had crappy experience in vista with 2 gb i was getting small jerks in dirt in high content scenes during game play that were fine in xp.

Keeping it in dual channel if possible would be preferable, but another gb of ram is probably going to get a more positive effect in new upcoming games. personally id say if there's no way you can stretch to a 2gb kit go for it. but that's just what i would do.

cheers mate, i suppose its only going to be a few weeks at most before i can stick in another gig.
