2in1 Vs regular

Well, they're certainly matured products in that you don't lose things.
Of course you don't find highest performance CPUs and GPUs from them, because they're meant to be lighter devices.
But if your use is lighter like web surfing, video watching, etc or some occasional photo editing, they're basically comparable to normal ultrabooks of same size/weight class.
While giving new usage options.

Though no doubt cheapest ones might have some new problems compared to standard clamshell laptop.
Lenovo X1 Yoga isn't good for giving info about those.

Any that I've used, including a recent Yoga, have been fairly unspectacular laptops that can be used as a fairly unspectacular tablet...

For me both devices have a use, just no use for an overly heavy tablet or a slow laptop

owning a dell inspiron 13 2-in-1, i agree with this comment^
also, i wouldn't consider getting a 2-in-1 with a screensize that's over 13 inches. makes it too heavy for using it as a tablet.
meaning that you're left with igpus = middling graphics performance (especially on the intel side of things)
of course now with ryzen mobile out, you can get the hp envy x360 with ryzen 5 for better igpu performance :)
