2k 50" Plasma?

You know the old adage "you get what you pay for" , quality 50" Plasma's start at about £3,000, if he's only got £2,000 to spend i think he would be better of buying a good 42" screen than a budget 50" one.

if you check reviews for the samsung DLP tv you will find that it is very good! i think what home cinema gave it 93% (or somewhere very close to that)

i give it 8/10 only because i havent got any hi def inputs available yet soon as hi def comes out i will see how good it is

But does he want a DLP ? the original question was asking about 50" plasmas, maybe he wants to mount it on a wall which would be difficult to do with a DPL screen.

Then id still say go for a quality 42" screen, some thing from Panasonic or a Pioneer 43" would be a good choice.
If you shop around you should be able to pick a Panasonic up for around £2,000 the Pioneer is a bit more expencive but they have just bought out a new more affordable model.

the DLP is fairly thin, if you are going to hang it on the wall then obviously get a plasma, but if not then i would say a dlp would b worth while
