I aim to get back into gaming with the release of Battlefield 1.

I am after a pre built system as i want to ensure everything is setup correct.

Budget is 2k give or take, i want to be able to play Battlefield on max graphics when its released and other games like Call of Duty.

Whilst i would buy now and play other games i think it makes sense to get the new nvidia Pascal card?

Would system at moment would be best to buy for that budget ?

Ok thats great thanks. I will wait a few more weeks for the new release on the 1080 then as may as well get the latest card. thanks

The Dell S2716DG 1440p G-Sync Monitor gets a pretty good review for a TN panel.

I don't know what 4K performance is going to be like with a single GTX 1080 so maybe wait for reviews first.

Thanks , a lot of people seem to refer to acer x34 quite a lot so i may take plunge on that. I would prefer higher fps than 4k so if i got my facts straight the predator monitor should suit my needs with the new 1080 graphics card.

4K BF1 will probably be quite murderous on systems, I can see 2X 1080 being needed in SLi for 4k and Ultra settings (no AA) and even then I think they'll struggle to pull a constant 60fps, which is the minimum I'd want for FPS, also some people prefer over 60hz for this type of game. Although G-sync helps massively with 4k.

I went from 4k 60hz gsync to 21:9 1440p 100hz and the difference in smoothness and fluidity was a much bigger gain than the sharpness of 4k which you tend not to notice at all after a couple mins of gaming. Oh and my frame rate increased by 40% also.

just waiting for new 1080 to be released before i can place my order.

Silly question but most specs do not include a CD-ROM drive and some of the new cases do not allow you to have one... I know a lot is online / download these days but surely you would need a CD-Rom/DVD/blueray no?

Is the CPU spec / mobo the best to get still currently?

I offer optical as an optional component in most systems but, personally, I haven't used one for about five years. Even if you buy a boxed game from a Game store all you usually get is a box with a download key inside. Unless you are watching DVD/Bluray movies on your PC or you still have a CD/MP3 car radio then there isn't really any need any longer.

With regards CPU,MB, 6700K and Z170 is still the best gaming combination. Intel's next CPU launch is not going to change that because it's focused on boosting multi-core performance for professional applications. Games are still limited in how many threads they can utilise so MHz is king in that situation.

Many thanks . Seems strange no CD-ROM but thats the way it is now.. I'll make sure i got a decent size hard drive then :)

Sorted my setup i think im going for this + the 1080 add-on when it arrives.

Any changes required or all good?

A couple of things:

1. Are you sure you want a midi-tower / full ATX system? Might a smaller - ITX - system be preferable?

2. Look at the M2 SSDs for extra speed.

3. Consider a wireless headset for gaming.

Examples, not suggestions:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £273.64
(includes shipping: £8.70)

THank you kindly.

I agree with the Solid state drive i saw on another configurator i could add that to put on the O/S and a secondry SSD / Storage.

With regards to the gaming headset my only thing was if i forgot to charge the headset up or its starts to run low on battery...

The smaller ITX.. i think im good with a normal size desktop will only sit under desk after all. but i will take a look!
