Do I keep my 4k G-sync 60 TN monitor?

Or would it be better to get a 2k IPS 144 G-sync monitor?

4k is nice, but some newer games don't seem optimised for 4k yet

Also is 144fps monitor a lot smoother than my 60 with g-sync?

you wont be getting good fps in 4k unless u have 2 high end graphics cards and 2k 144hz will be sooooo much smoother. I don't understand any gamer who would choose 4k 60hz over 2k 144hz.

Going from 4k TN to 2k IPS was helped for me due to the increase in colour production and better viewing angles coupled with the smoother gameplay.

If it was 4k IPS to 2k IPS probably say dont bother as 4k IPS must be amazing.

Guys, can you please stop saying '2K' when you mean WQHD or if you're lazy '2.5K'? :) It makes no sense that you would consider 3840 x 2160 '4K' and 2560 x 1440 '2K' when 1920 x 1080 is much closer to '2K' by this logic. This is a virus that needs to be stopped and not spread further and it's flat out incorrect, so stop using the term.

I think I am going to try them next to each other and then make my choice.
IPS has so much better colours, but my mind has got use to 4k, I hope its not too much of a down grade.

I've had both and still prefer 1440p 144hz. As you asked, yes it is much smoother especially when using the mouse. Makes for a far better experience personally. 4k is crisper but I can't play at 60hz comfortably with a mouse and 1440p still DOES look good. There isn't a huge difference really.

I won't go back to 4k until there is 4k 144hz and the hardware to power it.

I think 144Hz 1440p will be fantastic if you can use NVidia HDR + FXAA.
But this may potentially be much more demanding than 4k.

It also depends on size. At 40" 4k is massive improvment over 1440p but at 28" it will have far less impact on your experience.

Personally I think your current 4k with g-sync is very good combination to keep.

I was referring to the same terminology the OP used so as not to confuse the issue and reply in related terms not to be wholly accurate. I suppose you dont like the virus that spreads "gsynch" either ? :) Plus I like it when it annoys people. :)

If you want 4k/UHD & gsync & IPS then why not get the Asus PG27AQ (strange I can buy this online but not from OCUK?), Acer XB271HK or go mad for the Acer XB321HK ?

Well got the 144Hz 2K Monitor, the movement speed at 144Hz is a lot faster and smoother, Mortars in BF 4 look so much more real when they fire.
Don't think I could go back to 60 now.
