Hi all,

After a recent post Tetras posted the following. He was such a help honestly I’m majorly impressed with everyone’s responses here not a single keyboard warrior in sight. I’m looking to get this bought on the 17th/18th so would love some final advice before then.

The build he proposed is as follows:

Lian Li LANCOOL 215 Mid-Tower aRGB Tempered Glass Black - £89.99
Lian-Li GALAHAD AIO 360mm High Performance RGB CPU Water Cooler - Black - £149.98
Phanteks AMP 1000W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply - £149.99

WD Black SN770 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS200T3X0E) - £139.99

Intel Core i5-13600K (Raptor Lake) Socket LGA1700 Processor - Retail - £339.95
Asus Prime Z790-P (LGA 1700) DDR5 ATX Motherboard -£249.94
TeamGroup Vulcan EXPO 32GB (2X16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C38 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (FLABD532G6000HC38ADC01) - £230.00

Asrock Radeon RX 6900 XT Phantom Gaming D 16GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £649.98
AMD Radeon™ Raise The Game Bundle - Dead Island 2 & The Callisto Project - £0.00

Grand Total: £2,013.02

Can anyone suggest any alternatives?

Thanks again,
Josh

My guys! Thank you so much I appreciate every comment and so much knowledge. I will switch the PSU and RAM the price differences should offset themselves and 6000MHz is probably overkill anyway.

1. I’ll upgrade case - Corsair 4000D or NZXT …..??

2. Thoughts on paying extra for the 6950? Waste of £200?

looking at hardware unboxed review of 6950xt

12 game av at 1440p
6950xt 149fps
6900xt 137fps
6800xt 129fps

3090ti 149fps
3090 138fps
3080ti 134fps
3080 123fps..that was 10gb version, 12gb should sit closer to 3080ti

4k
6950xt 85fps
6900xt 76fps
6800xt 70fps

3090ti 91fps
3090 82fps
3080ti 80fps
3080 72fps

didn't put 1080p as guessing with a high end card you would prob be 1440p or above

only a month away from 7900xtx release
Oh wow! I didn’t expect it to perform as well as the 3080 but I’m really impressed!

7900xtx looks like an absolute beast! Especially with the new features. I do worry that there will be a big price jump.

Case-wise while the 4000D is a nice case, I think there's potentially the same sort of problem with it - that gpu is just very large at the end of the day, and if you want to put a 360mm AIO in the case then it either needs to be even longer so there's room for both the gpu length and aio thickness, or it needs to have room to top-mount the radiator (which both mean quite a large case). 5000D would be fine though I think, and is a very nice case - might be my choice (although is quite expensive!).

These should have plenty of room though, for example:

Would fit with top mounted aio:

Not looked that much at cases recently and there are loads of options, so probably other good / better options too.
If I have to spend the extra to make sure it fits then that’s what I have to do. If this turns into a. 3k build though I blame you allz
