Hello folks, I'm looking to spend £2k on a laptop maybe a bit more but absolutely nothing less, not even a penny.

For small business.
Must have a large screen to look at large format pdf's dwg's a msproject.
Must have MS project and Office 365 included in price as a one invoice purchase.

Other than that I'm not fussed I just want the best I can get. Any suggestions.

Thanks :)

To be fair that was the number one thing stated on the first line of the post :D

Actually the price on the laptop I pointed out has dropped so he could grab himself a bargain.

But if he wants to spend more then it is up to him? Funny dude arguing about a penny though :D

If I spend in excess of 2k I can claim the vat back so costs me 1666. If I spend 1999.99 it costs 1999.99.

Flat rate vat

This.

And who says he's footing the bill?

I'd be looking at something sleek, aluminium body etc..

Will the book price for Ms project is around £950 and it's not the sort of software you can pick up cheap. Could be worse could be using p6 then you'd be in real trouble

Been offered this with MS Project and Office 2013 for a smidgen over £2k

I don't believe it's against the rules as you're not linking to a competitor, just discussing the hardware

That looks mostly decent with Project included, but I'd be wanting an SSD for this sort of money, not a HDD.

Also, ask them to remove this bloatware crap...

And as an aside, if you have a funny requirement like a minimum price of £2,000, perhaps you should explain why in future, so people don't think you're taking the ****? Because while there was a good reason for it, that's how it came accross over the first few posts of this thread.

FRS is the reason, but the beauty is that as long as the single invoice is £2k+, all is well. Personally, when the time comes to replace MyCo's P35k, I will be looking at a printer refresh, external HDD, replacement NAS and/or whatever else - saving is not to be sniffed at, so long as you actually have need of the other bits and bobs :)
