Right I have a friend at work who is in need of a new high end gaming machine. He's running at 1400 resolution.

Doesn't need Monitor, keyboard mouse, OS just case and contents.

So far I have worked this out What do you think?

Def a full spec machine,

As its just for gaming, stick with the 3570K the i7 offers very little in gaming.

At that res you can get away with a single GPU, I game at 1920 x 1200 on a single 670 without issues.

I would just stick with one GPU, I have the Gigabyte one you linked in the first post which I think beats stock 680 in certain benchmarks.
