Ok, going to be getting a new rig in a month or less now :D

I need the following:
Monitor
Case
PSU
CPU
cpu cooler
MoBo
RAM
GFX card
Windows Vista

Dont need

HDD's

Was thinking of the the Dell 2407WFP - is that the best one for that kind of money??
Was also thinking of the best gfx card i can get as well - 8800 ??

This machine will have to last me a year or 2 without any upgrades at all, so make it a good one pls.

Please post your suggestions.
 



A good start, could change the PSU to the 620w version if you wish, or better RAM or even Quad Core if you so please.

Your new spec looks good. Personally I'd spend less on the case and motherboard. But it's all quality kit. :)
 
For photoshop, ditch the 8800gtx, no need for it, something like a 7600gt or less is fine, also might as well go for the 4GB of RAM option, 2* 7200RPM RAID 0 drives for Vista, and a 24" BenQ Display, spend your money on the CPU so a Core2Quad QX6700, and maybe a P5WD2 WS Pro Mobo...

Why Vista Ultimate? Why OEM? I've learned the hard way that OEM copies can be a false economy. I would spend a bit more on the Retail Upgrade version of Home Premium.

Your Mobo/RAM selection seems very hardcore (surely you can't be serious about going Quad SLI when you have 1 8800 in a slot???).
