2K Suggestions

4th Gen Honda Prelude 2.2 Vtec, you can pick up a minter for £2k, but most are less. Quick, reliable and a bargain

I wouldnt leave that near a train station tbh, but i'd definatly get a honda prelude or civic, ultra reliable, sporty (coupe versions) and cheap... ( civic for train stations, prelude for anything else)

Why ever not? Perfect sporty banger - nice to drive but even the minters simply look like old cars nobody will give a second look to.

Must resist an insult, but a stock Prelude doesn't look that sporty I have to agree, tbh you could buy an ok car for less than a grand goes like dog poo of a shovel and not have to worry about it getting dented/nicked etc. It's also prity rare, compared to all the mondeo's and beemers that are out there :p

sometimes these spec me a car threads really make me laugh, please wake up guys he has a 2k budget, im not saying you cant get a decent car for 2k as i have done it myself, but get real....

anything slightly exotic or racy has been kaned to within an inch of its life at 2k. rant over

so look at the options, you want as much fun as you can for 2k and you want to leave it at the station, you want air con.... might be possibile

look at the cars that depreciate the most so merc's , jap mainstream ,rover / mg and alfas, then look at the various models and options...

for example i have seen on teabay a 1999 146ti alfa with history 2.0 t spark
67k on the clock all electric and aircon for 1600 a good buy and nice car by all accounts

try to avoid the obvious as this is what costs the money, people dont like buying out of the mainstream, but be real about what you can afford and live with.

Alfa 146 is a money pit.

Also, more than likely been ragged as you say at the start of the post.

spoken like someone who has never owned one and goes on hear say ( rumours not the band)

I know several people who have and still do own them ( as i used to )and no one has a bad word against them, i had mine for 16 months and did 28 k in it
the only thing i had to do was service it and replace the rad as it had been hit by a stone on the motorway

I owned a 1998 Alfa 146 2.0ti, pics of which can be found in the car history thread.
