Morning all

Am about to start buying up bits for my second PC build, learnt loads from my first and am ready for an upgrade. I've decided I want to go small, so looking at Mini ITX.

Game wise I only really play Football Manager, Minecraft and PvZ with my eldest.

So far am looking at:

CPU - Ryzen 5 1500x
Motherboard - AS Rock AB350
RAM - 1x 8gb Ballistix sport DDR4-2666
GPU - Zotak GeForce 1050 Ti
PSU - EVGA Supernova G3 (I already have a semi-modular I can use in my current build, so this could be sacrificed if needed)

Without the case (we'll come onto that) this puts me at about £515, wanting to keep budget down to £600 maximum.

So a couple of questions

1. Thoughts / opinions on what I've found so far?
2. Can anyone recommend a good mini itx case, I've looked at loads but can't decide?

Thanks a lot

You want 2 sticks of ram for dual channel goodness.
SSD?
Windows?

Cheers. Was hoping to move my SSD and Windows from my current machine, I have a retail copy of Windows 10 so hopefully can reinstall.

With RAM prices being so high I was hoping to avoid, but will see if I can stretch...

Get ram that is either 3000mhz or 3200 mhz, ryzen loves fast ram i might add.

For example this > https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...ual-channel-kit-black-my-08l-tg.html#comments

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £208.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Also get a motherboard that supports 3000/3200 mhz ram, i'll have a look for one.

Edit

Found a motherboard that supports 3200 and costs around about 80 quid.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...ocket-am4-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-557-gi.html

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £93.49 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Thanks, looked at the "n" version of that, so will switch it in.

Those RAM prices are eye watering, unlikely I can get those in my budget. Might look at the G.Skill Aegis.

If you are going for an ITX build then that Gigabyte board above is no use to you as it is ATX.

I tried to find his motherboard but no luck.

Atx m-atx and itx are form factors which means size of the motherboard.

You can check which form factors your pc tower case will support.

If your after a pc tower/case then i recommend this > https://www.overclockers.co.uk/xigmatek-talon-midi-tower-windowed-gaming-case-black-ca-067-xg.html cost about 55 quid and it requires no tools to assemble.

Anyways you do not need a pc tower case in your first post i have noticed so yea.

Anyways we do not know what form factors your pc tower case supports though.

Also i noticed you want mini itx......

Sorry bout that i need to learn to read :/ and scroll up

Edited this a few times...i am out.

Anyhow out of all of that i am correct about the ram speed being at least 3000mhz so you should get ram at that mhz speed with a itx board that supports that mhz speed.

3000/3200 mhz ram for a ryzen 1 processor such as the 1500x will do the job fine i know that as it is the sweet spot.

Have a good day

Haha, cheers :)

Yeah Mini ITX I want, but the Gigabyte GA-AB350N is mini itx, so that's all good.

Any recommendations on good cases would be great...

Ok, bit of advice if possible...

I really like the look of this case https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian...-case-with-300w-sfx-psu-black-ca-526-ll.html#

Has a built in PSU, my wattage will be approx 180, so just over half (61% to be precise), also saves me buying a new PSU.

So far i'm at...

CPU - Ryzen 5 1500x
Motherboard - AS Rock AB350
RAM - Team - Dark 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
GPU - Zotak GeForce 1050 Ti

Including case coming in at around £590.

Thoughts?
