2nd gpu out put

i am using 2 monitors on my 5850 crossfire why is it i can only used the dvi input and hdmi input on just one gpu card, if i plug a dvi or hdmi on the 2nd gpu is dont detected it in ati software.should it do this thanks

With AMD cards in crossfire, I'm pretty sure you can only get video output from the top card.

For more than two cards, you are quite right. However, for just two monitors (like the OP is using) then you don't need to use a displayport output (or eyefinity for that matter), DVI and HDMI will work fine.

Personally I am using a HD 6970 with two DVI-connected monitors right now.

Not exactly.

With Crossfire you can only use the outputs from 1 card.

2 monitors can be connected by DVI or HDMI.

A third monitor must be connected by DisplayPort or using an active DisplayPort adapter.
