Well ive just gone and bought Farcry 2 and Dead Space from a certain game retailers trade section. Both games have been described as brand new and only played through once.

My question is, am i going to have any problems installing and playing either game on my PC. I know there is some very awkward copy protection going arround that may make my life difficult.

Thanks.

Dead space iirc is securom free so no problems there. Farcry 2 is limited to 5 installs however if the game is uninstalled a credit is refunded, as long as the previous user uninstalled the game you will receive all 5 credits, even if he hasn't that still leaves you with 4 to play with which will be more than enough.

It's only if the game had say, 1 credit left and then you had a harddrive failure so you were unable to uninstall it that would cause problems.

A lot of the "security" features on modern games are nothing more than a hassle and are now starting to prevent you from selling on the game :/

Copy Prevention, sure, when it doesn't verge on the ridiculous (which some of the times it does). You shouldnt have to uninstall or install extras bits of crap in order for the game to run. This is just forcing people to apply Warez patches/cracks to games in order to actually play the retail game they paid for, again will lead more people to piracy in my eyes.

Restricing your useage of the game and selling it on if you think its pants is bang outta order.
