Other than the obvious auction site and, gumtree & the mm is there a specific mac forum / site where people frequently buy n sell kit? Or is this just me being wishful
 
You can buy from Apples own store. They sell refurbished models that come with the same 1 year warranty all new hardware comes with. Might not be as cheap as you can get elsewhere, but it's always another option. Personally I've bought my MBP and iMac from their refurb store.
 
Do Apples US store deliver to the UK, I've noticed you save tonnes compared to the UK one, especially with mac minis. Or is the import tax just ridiculous?

Back in the days of $2:£1 I bought my MBP and AppleCare in the 'States. Would have been over £2K here for what I got, but was nice and cheap as I accidentally walked through the "nothing to declare" line at customs ;).
