My brother has an i7 2600k, 8gb ram, crossfire 6950s 2gb versions build he wants to sell, also has an ssd.

So my question would be should I go with his i7 2600k with crossfire 6950s or build new with a 4670k and a gtx 760 oc?

I have 600 ish to spend so just looking for comparative opinions really based on performance.

Cheers guys!

Unfortunately price checks aren't allowed outside the Members Market.

You can ask for a spec. for a certain amount but I suggest you remove the first part of your question.

^ No price checks outside MM :(

Don't upgrade that i7 2600k. By upgrading, it's really not worth it. The 4790k will give you a 10-15% performance increase, definitely not worth it. What you want is a new GPU, perhaps a case, an SSD (if current one is too small) and a cooler

Thanks for the heads up, getting to 1k might take me a while. Edited the first post, should that be okay now?

To shivy, it has a noctua cooler so could happilg crank it to 3.8. Also has an ssd too but so would a new build. How far behind are crossfire 6950s compared to say a 760?
