2nd hand radiators + Res what to do?

Hi

i posted that i was looking into primochill fittings for my wc loop and you guys helped me out a treat , now i won a xspc 750 kit and a phobya 200mm rad minus tubing , now when it arrived it still had die on the bubble wrap (mayhems blue pastel from what i can gather!)

How do i clean the bay res it's slightly stained it , and am i ok to just run hot running water through the rads or does it have to be distilled?

I'm only asking as i don't want to leave it and **** something up or gunk up the pump as im not installing it for another 2-3 weeks , also some of the rad fins are bent nothing major but will that make a difference?

you can run tap water though it to clean out the gunk, as long as the final few passes are with distilled/deionised water

Bent fins won't make too much of a difference (assuming there's not too many)

To flush the system I just use hot water & a mild vinegar solution (mainly for cleaning radiators etc..). OcUK do sell a proper cleaning kit if you'd prefer:

+ 1 for mild clear vinegar solution remember its acidic so make it mild (small cap full for the 750 + rad should do) then flush with distilled water from any store.

Perfect answer guys i have vinegar...duh who doesn't want chips with lots of vinegar!!!!
I'll give it all a flush afterwork today , my kit actually came with a bottle of mayhem distilled water so that also saves me a trip out to buy some!

Anyone else bought the pipe bending kit from OCuk and know a rough eta on dispatch?

I bought the new drop of the pipe bending kits about 30 seconds after it dropped (thanks to a heads up from rjkoneill

)
They should have been shipped to Ocuk yesterday from Monsoon so it'll be a wee bit yet but not much longer till they're on the way to us
