2nd monitor question 5870

I have today added a second monitor purely for sky player and films,my main screen for desktop is 1920 by 1200 and the second screen for films is 1920 by 1080.

I have noticed now that i have 2 screens running my 5870 CCC power savings clocks are now 400mhz and 1200mhz?

Is this because im running 2 screens at different res or something else?

This is so that there is no 'screen tearing' issues on the second monitor, with the lower clocks.
