2nd network port on pc to router?...

hi,

I have two network pports built into my mobo (see sig).

Just wondering if I can use one as an out to a wireless router for my netbook?

If so how do I go about setting it up?

Got it set up. Somehow things worked this time.

Anyway I can make my pc and netbook see each other?

basically have

internet in > pc > wireless router > netbook

I would like it so I can share files over the router. Cheers,

What type of Internet connection do you have?

You could connect your modem to the wireless router.

It does work, but it then means freewireTV then doesnt work through the router.

If it can't be done then will just buy one of the usb transfer leads.

Make sure both workgroup names are the same. What OS are they using?

You can try use the homegroup feature on them, I tried it myself with my desktop and laptop and it works great, a lot easier than vista and xp.

You can only share libraries though, but setting them up is quite easy. Just go to a folder that you want to share and click "Include in library" and choose any of the options you want, then go to the library and click "Share with Homegroup". Simples

I just browse to \\name\share. Sod the home group nonsense.
