I am looking for an unbiased opinion on a system i have sourced. I do not want to link it in case it is against forum rules but it is from another company - hence my discretion.

I was looking forward to building my own but this seems too cheap to dismiss!

Seems like a pretty good deal compared to my current basket;

Asus GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Asus Z77 Sabertooth Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

Crucial RealSSD M4 256GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8)

Pioneer 24x Internal DVR-S19LBK DVD Rewriter including Labelflash - Retail

This comes in at just over £1300

Is it worth sacrificing a few of my nice bits and getting a pre-built sytem (with O/C) with a 680GTX in it? The benchmarks seem to make it a pretty clear choice :/

EVGA 680 ASUS 670

Sorry for the wall of text!

imo, your current basket is better, u have a 256 ssd, larger psu, better mobo, all-in-1 water cooler

you should try speccing the exact same components in your basket as the prebuilt to see if its worth it

I thought this but i really cba deleting my basket contents again, i have changed it about 20 times :p

My real quandary is whether the i should be swayed by the 680 or not, the O/C is not biggy, i will enjoy tinkering with it and learning

from your same links, both overclocked cards...so you want to pay an extra 100 quid for the 680?

Good point well presented amigo. I never noticed the 'OC', just looked at the pretty colours!

I was hoping someone would talk me out off changing. I am looking forward to building it myself!

Sorry, i am a scotsman, i thought i saw a better deal and panicked i was doing the wrong thing :p

Thanks Tamzzy ;)

If you are going to spend 1300£ on a PC in 2012 it has to have an ssd in it.

It really really does. Other wise you may as well buy a celeron.

Agreed. Why load in all that power to sit around waiting for a mech drive to spin up. I hate running programs off mech drives, and my SSD is one of the older gen with half the read speeds of the current range.

Thanks Freddie! I had already changed my basket 50 times, didn't want to change it again! I like the linking of the basket properly, are there instructions anywhere to do that? I have just been copy / pasting a wall of text.

I have already ordered my original basket. I want the fun / frustration of building my own and having a go at O/C'ing. Plus my case is going to look so much better than the plain black Carbide tower.

I thought this thread was burned, thanks for all the further comments, i will hopefully post a photo or 2 when its all up and running :D

P.S. Does any know if the Antec 920 cooler comes with thermal paste? It does, question answered, cheers Mr SkateyBird. I hope they are not cheapskates that don't include everything you need. I have some 7 year old stuff, don't want to use it if i don't have to...
