2nd pc what to do

i have just got a 2nd pc and networked it to my other pc w00t go me

got xp running spent some cash on a hdd for it and stuff and well dont know what to do with it lol so any good idears will be very welcom and so will daft ones :D

then;

linux testbed
messing around machine
backups.

cant think of anything else that would be of any value. :)

gaming - use main pc

http - dont know how (not left on all time)

ftp - dont know how (not left on all time)

download - origanl plan might go with that but nothing 2 donwload lol

stats - oo tell me how plz :D

media server - also sounds fun tell me how

intranet cache - a whaaa?

distributed computing - a whaaa??

then;

linux testbed - one agen i say a whaaa??
messing around machine - prob will b dont do that much really

backups - bit boring but can do

i said server, not gaming, i ment a game server :)

http is easy, if i could do it when i was 14 then anyone can.

*cough* bittorrent :p

stats can be intergrated to a web page for a nice look. :)

for a media server you shove a large drive in the pc, share it then point all the computers in the network at the drive.

intranet caches are good if you dont have a quad fibre channel internet connection, instant loading of webpages, smartly updates the cache according to what you visit and what sort of material it is.

go into the d.c section of the forums, the mad people there will show you what i mean, there are some good stickys there as well.

if you havnt heard/used linux then im lost for words..........

and finnaly, backups are a gift of god, when you loose some critical data or a flash drive you will wish you had, i know im happy due to my backups of coursework data. :)
