2nd TITAN not detected sometimes

Bought a 2nd TITAN today and sometimes it's detected when I boot up the PC and sometimes it isn't? What could be causing this problem? I enable SLI when it's detected and it's shown in device manager. Then it disappears when I reboot.

Intel Core i7 3970X Six Core 4.4ghz Overclocked
2x nVidia GeForce GTX Titan 6144MB GDDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card
32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866MHz C10 Quad Channel Memory Kit
Asus Rampage IV Intel X79 Motherboard
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SSD
Seagate 2TB Barracuda Green 32MB Cache SATA II Hard Disk Drive
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Corsair H100i CPU Cooler
Corsair AX860i PSU

One of the Titan is the normal Zotac and the other is the AMP edition and when they're detected they run at different clock speeds. Is that normal or maybe that's the problem?

Clock speeds wouldn't affect it. I'd try reattaching the SLI bridge, or outright trying a different one. Might be a faulty connection.

Also, try switching them around in the PCI-E slots. I've had strange issues like this with other people's machines and re-seating the cards in the opposite slots have worked.

It would be pushing it a bit but those PSUs are fairly decent - my setup with the CPU at 4.4 and good clock on the 780 use ~360watt in a busy 64 player BF4 server - so probably with the extra cores and GPU pushing best part of 700 watt under heavy gaming load.

For some reason seems like swapping the TITAN's around fixed the problem lol. No idea why but it fixed it haha. Thanks a lot. Sometime's the most simple things solve something that I thought would be complicated :)

Hopefully thats fixed it then - had it before with one of my 8000 series SLI where one card would sometimes not be detected til the cards were swapped around, I just assumed it wasn't quite making contact in the socket properly.

Yeah for now I've restarted it 4 times still works so hoping that solved it. Thanks a lot everyone :)

Yep thought as much, odd one that. First thing I try now with multi GPUs lol.
