Hello all,

Got a friend who's selling his xbox off cheap (£100) as he doesnt use it anymore, its just a bog basic xbox 360.

I currently own a 360 Elite, dont really wanna touch this so!

What cool mods, and operations can i do on the new 360? Also is modding chips legal now? sure i saw a thread on it somewhere!

Ideas: Changing all LED's to custom ones, making a complete new custom housing for it (not sure on architecture yet), custom cooling for it.

A guy got let off after going to court for fitting mod chips, which sets a legal precendence, effectively making them legal. As to wether people now want to risk it is another matter though.

Got let off? You mean he won. Very different meaning there.

As for risk, I would say the chances that the whoever sued in the first place is going to sue again would be close to ZERO. They've lost once, and if they didn't agree with that judgment then they would have APPEALED that judgement, not start a fresh prosecution from scratch.

Mod chips themselves are alright. The modified code that you have to put on them normally isn't. Don't need to chip it anyway mate, look up ixtreme.

Cut a big hole in one side and stick a 120mm silent fan on the side extracting hot air. Then replace the two rear fans with some silent ones too. I would imagine this would significantly aid cooling with the easiest possible mod.

I could be very wrong though - it has been known!

i would put it in a sleek htpc case - perhaps mod a silversone or lainli htpc case to fit the xbox gubbins in so it looks like a really expensive piece of kit

Some sort of Xbox 360/Fleshlight combo would be the way to go

I know some of the guys on here really love their Xbox 360's but this, imo, is taking it too far :p

But then again, the 360 is as temperamental as a woman so it may as well have an orifice.
