So we've just got back from a wedding in Paris and I thought I would have a few games of COD4 online.
I fired up the 360 to find the dreaded 3RROD.
Still at least this one lastest a few months longer than my original one lol.
Does anyone know if MS arrange to colletion/deivery from/to my work address rather than my home address?
It'd be real pain for them to collect from the house.

Phone Microsoft and ask.

No s*** sherlock, if they were open I would have done that.
I've asked on here because a) loads of people on here have suffered the 3RROD and perhaps someone else has arrange this via MS and b) I'd rather use their online request than get stuck in a phone queue for 30 mins only to be put through to a clueless muppet.

Sorry mate, I didn't mean it to personal, I meant to add a poking out tongue.

very English of you. lol

In answer to your question you don't deal with MS when your arranging collection. They'll give you a number to contact UPS, who are very very flexible. They offered to meet me at work also. I asked them to meet outside my home address after work - when I got home the UPS dude was waiting.

EDIT: actually have a read of my experience with them. I must admit they handled it quite efficiently, as opposed to when you ask them a technical question ;)

a). Be nice :D
b). When you phone up UPS, they ask for a pickup address- so I said my work address. Might be an idea to get MS to leave a note on your case to send it back to your work address, because they sent mine to my home address, luckily by chance someone was there.

Also, I've found their phone support to be very far from clueless muppets. They arranged everything very quickly.

Well, as they get so many calls regarding fubared 360s they have become very efficient at processing requests. Call up about most other things and they are clueless, quite scary really.

Thanks for the advice all.
Once again sorry to Doonhamer, I honestly didn't mean any offence.
I tried doing the return online but it said there was an error so I'll call MS in the morning.
SiD the Turtle - I know I shouldn't tarnish all companies with the same brush but from my previous expirience of dealing with MS Xbox support dept, to date it's been just as bad as other companies that I have dealt with in the past.

I just hope suarves' comments ring true when I call them in the morning :D
I'm also glad I bought the PS3 before Xmas as I can at least carry on gaming while my Xbox 360 is away for repair.

One of my 360's is on it's way out, keeps saying it's a DVD in the drive and not a game, works sometimes, thankfully I have 2 and this one is not the main one I use which is even more surprising, will see if the shop will take it back tomorrow, still inside the year.

Well it's on it's way back to MS, UPS collected it this afternoon.
When I phoned MS support this morning they quoted 2 - 3 weeks so I'll just have to wait and see how long it does take them to repair / replace it.
