Okay so with my Christmas pennies I'm looking to get an amp for my two 6" subs . They're 4ohm dual voice coil and are rated at 250watts (RMS) each.
Following these diagrams:
Monoblock:
2 channel:
It's lead me to believe that I'll need either a monoblock that supplies 500watts at 4ohms or a 2 channel amp that will supply 250watts (per channel) at 2ohms.
First question, is this correct?
Second question, if the above is correct would the Pioneer GM-5300T be a good choice? http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5671.html.
My knowledge of amplifying speakers is rather limited, but I believe that although the subs are rated at 250watts, the 190watts continuous as supplied by that pioneer amp should be enough to competently power them?
If I'm totally barking up the wrong tree please let me know, I'd also be grateful of any other suggestions for amps for under £120 that would be up to the job.
Cheers.
