Hi All,

My system is as follows:

I7 950 3.06 ghz
12 GB RAM
2x 1GB ATI 6850
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R

So my question is this. Are the 6850's really that poor that when even crossfired they cannot run BF3 at a steady fps at 1900x1200 on ultra? I get about 40 - 80 fps with considerable slow downs. Am I right in thinking these where based on a 5770?

If they really are that poor what reasonable alternative would you suggest that will run BF3 nicely on my rig.

That 950 should be running at 4.0ghz + and at 1900x 1200 1GB of Vram aint enough at top settings.

Don't blame the cards...They are very good cards and scale nicely.

But for £200 you should have got a 2GB 6950 or got a 580
 
The 6850 is not based on a 5770 its a totally different card. I think as said above overclock your cpu which should go to 4ghz no problem. The 6850 is usually a good overclocker so you should overclock them as well to unleash a good bit more power.

I didn't buy them at the same time the 6850's, in hindsight when I got the second should have just got a more powerful single card but was worth a shot.

Will give the overclock a go.
