2x GTS, can I?

Hello aDzii, it is all dependent on the type of power supply unit you have. What make and model is the power supply that you have? Also, do you know how many amps your particular power supply unit can provide on the +12Volt rail? (You should be able to find this information on the side of your power supply unit)

One last thing - What does the rest of your system consist off?

Edit - Sorry, I have just misunderstood your post completely. I thought that you already had a single Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 and were looking to purchase another one and run them in a SLI configuration. Though, since you haven't yet bought anything, you may actually be better of purchasing either a single Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 or a Nvidia 8800 GTX than going for a dual Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 setup. What's the resolution that you currently play your games at? :)

It will be fine in terms of total wattage, you'll need to check the combined amps required on the 12v rails though.

My gut feeling, after messing about with power metres when Ive been doing SLI, is it will be fine (Ive done 8800GT SLI on a 500w psu, peak power was 400W).

Would recommend you start with one GTS or GTX - it should be more than enough to power your games at that res.
You could always buy a 2nd unit later if required.
n.b. Fair to say that I might be a wee biased as wasn't overly impressed with 2 8800GT's in sli.- Lots of heat , power consumption and noise for very little actual useable benefit. Am running at 1680x1050

^^agree

At 1280x1024 dont bother going for GTS sli.

I play TF2 with my single GT at 1900x1200 8xMSAA and Ive never seen it dip below 40fps, useuely locked at 60

Dual graphics doesn't make much, if any difference at below 1680x1050. And even then, the difference isn't drastic.

aDzii, at those res's you are definatly better going with a GT or 512 GTS. You will see little to no difference with a GTX card.

The question is do you plan on upgrading your monitor in the time you plan on keeping the card? If you do and will be going for a larger res then get a GTX or SLI GT(S) but otherwise dont worry about it.
