Ok first off, I was on the phone to customer service today and I asked if I ever got my iPhone 4 swapped over at the genius bar would I need to inform O2 of the new serial and IMEI number for my insurance. The lady said yes and she said it would be better if I took it to a O2 store so they could send it off for repair, she didn't seem to understand that I didn't want to be without my phone for 3 weeks but whatever.

So my question is if I do ever get it swapped, is there a nice easy process to keep my insurance valid or not?

Second question is, and I've been meaning to ask this for ages.

When you go to a genius bar and get something replaced, lets say an iPad for instance. If the one you take to get replaced has some dints in the metal, or some cosmetic marks, what are apple like about replacing them? Are they really picky about products being in perfect condition? If you give them an iPhone in poor cosmetic condition back will they give you a one in poor condition back?

I've only ever had to take a 3GS back that barley had a scratch on and I meant to ask this at the time but forgot.

Thanks.

I've swapped my 3GS at the apple store twice and both times they have given me new phones that have come out of brown boxes (some people claim these are refurbs though).

Swapping you insurance over is only a matter of informing your insurer, you may have to supply them proof that apple have swapped your phone, which is easy as apple give you a sheet detailing what they did giving the IMEI of both phones.
