As of yet, no documentation has been published to back this claim up and until it is this has to be taken with a large dose of salt. That said, x86 is Intel IP and if it turns out to be true it shouldn't really come as a shock. If "Meltdown" was zero in a 1 to 10 scale, this would be a 7 and could well have worldwide ramifications especially as it's now in the public domain.
 
I'll be interested in following this. Not much I can do about it as I can't afford a new computer if it is true so I just hope there is a fix.

If this turns out to be true, it would be interesting to see how long and widespread it has been undocumented.

With regards to how long, someone in the Twitter thread saying its present in the P6 arch - so at least since mid 90's if theyre correct - unless I'm reading this wrong
