I have 2 nvme drives one is a CORSAIR Force MP510 NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 SSD the other is (new) Samsung 990 PRO 2TB PCIe 4.0 (up to 7450 MB/s) NVMe M.2

Atm I have the Win 11 on the corsair and will use the samsung to put games on.

Would I notice the difference in booting/loading times, if put the os on the Samsung and also put games on it.

Current pc spec:-
Asrock x570 pro 4
Ryzen 5800x3d
Team Group 8Pack Edition 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C14 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit
GeForce RTX™ 3080 Ti GAMING X TRIO 12G
Corsair RMi Series RM850i ATX/EPS Fully Modular 80 PLUS Gold 850 W Power Supply Unit
Fractal Lumin s36 Aio

No noticeable difference.
^

games, os etc rely on random reads/writes and neither drive will saturate PCIE 3 much less PCIE 4 bandwidth
it's only when you hammer the drive with large sequential reads/writes eg video encoding that there will be a difference

Even video encoding won't saturate the bandwidth, I know as I often transcode and encode in Davinci/Handbrake and never see anywhere near even Gen 3 bandwidth :p

The real differences are only noticed in benchmark numbers, not real world use.

Bit scared, my brain automatically changed the subject.
Something to think about next rebuild, bit like using top nvme for boot on the cpu rather than chipset/switched.
