I have 2x Hub one routers. I`m currently using one for my internet with the other one stored away... Is there any way I can link them together via ethernet cable to boot my wifi across my house?

You can with most routers.

Google 'router as access point' and there'll be loads of guides available.

It basically boils down to disabling DHCP, tweaking a few settings and connecting the two routers together LAN-to-LAN.

I did this with 2 BT HH5's but it ended up creating another WiFi access point rather than extending the existing one from the main router. Not sure if I missed something.

That's what you'd expect.

You give them both the same SSID and password (different wireless channels) and leave the connected devices to decide which access point to connect to. It usually works well enough.
