2x12 cabs

I'm selling my 4x12 and switching to a 2x12. but I'm confused to how the outputs and inputs work (with all the ohm stuff) I've been reading reviews and the marshall 1922 looks like a good one mainly because its cheap. I play metal and my head is a randall G2 rh100.

advice please

I used one a few times, very "boxy" sounding and focused on where it is pointing.

If you want a marshall 2x12 a 1936 would be a better option imo.

a 2x12 cab will 99% of the time run in 8ohms mono.

apparently the 1936 is a massive 2x12 and not that much smaller than the mg series 4x12

I have a 1936 2x12 back home that I use for teaching with a simple racksetup.

Before upgrading cabs with my proper rig I used it with my JSX and the speakers in it are really bad in my opinion - they're very harsh, but then again I prefer a smooth tone for leads.

It's definately big though, the Orange 2x12s are good if your budget will stretch that far.

I'm looking to sell my AVT and I'll be willing to add in 100 pounds to get a good 2x12
this time I want everything right, size etc, and good stock speakers, the TSL 212 has really good reviews and something to do with a pair of non matching speakers

I have a Mesa Boogie 2x12 and it rules. It runs at 8ohms, mono.

nah I'm not into upgrading the speakers because the 4x12 is just too big now

Try and find a local shop with the TSL cab, they're very popular so there should be plenty, put your head through it and if you like it then go for it as it looks good for the price.

It'll have good cosntruction, not great but it'll be fine, it's the tone that'll count and the speakers in a cab can make a huge difference to the tone.

I can highly recommend this cab, I'm using one with an Ashdown fallen angel 60-dsp head and it sounds superb. I play fairly brutal metal with a lot of low end (drop c tuning with lots of chugging on the top string) and it sounds fantastic. For a 2 x 12 cab the low end is brilliant and it sounds very bright when playing lead. Well worth £200!

can I use 2x2.12's as a 4.12? (when gigging I could deside depending on the size of the gig so i dont have to lug all of it around)?

can someone please sum up speakers for me as I dont have a clue what a V30 is :s
what are the EV black label speakers like?

V30s are my favourite speaker, used alone of in combination with others. Thats playing hard rock/metal.
