Hi

Does anyone know what revision these modules are that are currently selling at OcUK. Also has anyone else had any experience of running them on an ASUS P4GPL-X or any other i915-PL based board.

I am thinking of taking the plunge, but want to make sure I get some memory that sits well with my set-up.

Cheers

Oh well, I have taken the plunge.
It was at a very tempting price on 'This Week Only' and ever since I put my X1800XT in and rebuilt my system, BF2 has been not running as smoothly as it did before.
I look forward to ultra smooth BF2 play and it should help out with Oblivion when it comes out next week.

Have you got it yet? I've just ordered some of this memory meself a coupla hours ago. Let us know how it overclocks and timings, thanks.

I can't really overclock this at the moment as the Multipliers are locked on my board and my CPU will not hit 2600Mhz (Uncommon for a Pentium-M 740) so I can't run higher than about 196/197 FSB. Having said that, it runs fine at the advertised 2-3-2-5 timings at 2.6v.

I tried putting 2.8v through it and running at 2-2-2-5 but got some errors in memtest. I don't know what voltages this mem will take, I can go up to 2.9v on my board, which shouldn't be a problem for it, I wouldn't have thought.

I've just noticed that in your sig say "the birthplace of HG wells", do you mean Hanwell, west london? If so, then I live round the corner from you. Anyways, I've not heard of any 2gig ram that'll do 2-2-2-5, the lowest they'll go is 2-3-2-5 iirc.

Hi

HG Wells was born in Bromley, Kent. I think he moved to Hanwell as an adult.

I certainly can't get the OCZ to run 2-2-2-5 even with 2.9v, but I have no complaints with its performance so far. I certainly see the benifits in moving up from 1GB.

Ah-ha, I stand corrected wrt HG wells. Like I said, I very much doubt anyone will get 2-2-2-5 with 2gig, but I might be corrected later on, maybe someone on the Xtremesystems forums have done it, but I reckon it gonna take a lot of volts, extra cooling, bios mods etc, to do it.

I have 2 x 1GB OCZ PC3200 Platinum running at 2-3-2-5 on an Asus P4P800 E Deluxe mobo, tried it at 2-2-2-5, but would not even boot.

Also asked over on the OCZ support forum Here, but was informed that 2-2-2-5 was not possible with this Ram on my mobo, but in saying that I am quite happy with the way it is running now at 2-3-2-5, no errors in memtest86+. Have not overclocked it yet, but it is supposed not to O/C much above 220FSB.

Form what I've read, this ram will clock to about 250mhz, but with very slack timings, say, 3-4-4-8, so its probably worth running a divider and keeping the timings tight.
