2x1gb or 3x1gb

Would it be better to run 2x1gig sticks dual channel or 3x1gig sticks single chanel?

2GB Dual channel.

Could get 2x1GB stick & 2x512MB RAM sticks and then have 3GB in dual channel.

2GB Dual Channel would be better over 3GB single.

well i have 4x1gig sticks but i think one is dodgy so i was just thinkin about taking it out and running 3x1gig sticks, but if 2 sticks in dual channel would be better then ill just do that.

Why don't you try a few combinations and bench-mark it with 3DMark or something?
