ive got a dell 2407 a while back and wish i had gone 2 x 22" inch (prob sammys) instead for nearly the same price for this one.... as the two sceens are better for managing everything if you use your comp for multitasking (tv card, browsing, msn gaming etc etc)
Depends what you do. I find one big screen far more efficient for photo editing that 2 smaller ones. The 1920 x 1200 res is far better than two 1680 x 1050s.
But if you just use a lot of random programs, 2 screens might be nice for multi-tasking. Play games on one, have other stuff on the other, etc.
what do you plan to use two screens for. If you don't have a specific use for them all day everyday you might find that you have an empty screen just eating up electricity.
I use mine to edit and check HD footage so the full HD (1920*1200) resolution is a must for me, however i have seen 2 screens used really effectivly for photoshop and After Effects work.
So i'd really take a step back and think carefully "what do i want to do", rather than get the 2 screens and think "what do i do with these"?
just get 1 x 30" all the real estate you could need love mine
Funnliy enough though, i went from a single 22" to 2 x 22" then from that to 1 x 24" and then from that to the 1x30"
I did miss not having dual screen when i had the single 24" as when playing games it can be handy to see who's talking on vent or ts, also see who is popping up on msn and such, also good for watching web feeds and such when gaming, now if i want to do any of those tasks i have to run the game in question in a window.
Personally I don't think I could ever go back to a single monitor, having 2 is just so useful, even for everyday things like browsing the web, msn, music, videos, etc. Totally agree with Bouncer though, if you don't do a lot of stuff at once or don't often find yourself minimising and maximising things then it might not be worth it, but like I said, I'm hooked!
