I purchased 2x4gb of ram by kingston last week and they came today and i installed them correctly, 3x bluescreens - 1st was after 2 mins on desktop, 2nd was on load up and 3rd was instantly, i put my old ram back in and now it works fine , could the ram be dead if so could i return the ram and get a new pair?

Try one stick at a time in each slot.

If you experience a Blue screen with a particular stick, then its likely to be that one.

Is the BIOS settings correct for the values of timings and voltage on the sticks?

Can you run memtest which is a downloadable program you burn to disk and run at boot up.

i didnt change any bios settings... didnt think i needed to since they're all default

Usually the timings, voltage and speed require setting up in the BIOS.

iirc 1 error was "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" and another 1 was "PAGE IN NONE PAGED PLACE" or something along those lines

edit if this helps - it said 8gb on windows and oly 4 gb on bios

Pop into the BIOS and check the voltage, you might need to bump it up to 1.55v ~

If that fails do what Stulid suggested and running each stick individually, you may have a faulty memory module.

its at 1.5V atm so ill try that

Try what it says they need, 1.65V

a lot of people are running them at 1.5 - 1.65v is the max cap right

They need 1.65V at 1600MHZ

1.5V at 1333mhz.

Each module kit has been tested to run at DDR3-1600MHz
at a low latency timing of 9-9-9-27 at 1.65V.

The SPDs are
programmed to JEDEC standard latency DDR3-1333MHz
timing of 9-9-9 at 1.5V.
