Hi All,

I had 2x Sapphire 5770, both overclocked at 960/1350. No issue whatsoever

However a friend of mine wanted to test one of the 5770s and when his system run (3 screen expansion on a real size 737 simulator) he bought one of me the same price I bought it there and then last night.

Now I'm in the process to either replace the remaining 5770 with a 5850 (and overclock it), or buy a new one. I found someone who is interested to buy the 2nd 5770 at cost price.

I know that at stock speed 2x5770 are similar to a 5870. But how when they are overclocked?
Is it better to have 2x5770 at 960/1350 (which is guaranteed...) or get an Asus 5850 reference and just try to be lucky on how hight it will OC?

Just a note, on the 3rd Pci-e of my P5Q Deluxe, I use a 9600GT for Physx, and I'm happy with it.

Thank you very much.

There have been a few general consensus about 2X 5770 vs 1X 5850.

1. The two cards in xfire will be faster than a 5850 at stock (about the same as a Hd5870 and more)

2. The 5850 is a nice card that can be overclocked to 5870 levels

3. The 5770 is definately better value but limits in the sense of another card being put in for future upgrades, gives off more heat and noise as well. remember, you will have to overclock 2 cards and it may be more difficult than just one.

Usually due to the declining price of the 5850 to around £230- £250, people usually go for that.

I would personally buy a new 5770 and make it 2 X 5770 and keep it for a while. By the time games need 2X5850 level graphics, much more efficient and faster cards may come out anyway?
