3.2ghz no go????

hey all...merry christmas

i have my cpu clocked at 3ghz at 1.25 core voltage,unlinked,ive tried to clock it at 3.2ghz by setting the fsb at 356x9 and also tried 400x8 and upped the core voltage to 1.35v and it wont boot,i have to clear the cmos and set it back at 3ghz

any ideas where im going wrong?......thanks

Is your RAM still at a stable speed?

im keeping it as unlinked so it stays at 800mhz still,ive had the ram running at 1000mhz with no probs but wasnt confident at keeping it at 1000mhz,dont want to kill it :rolleyes:

Ah, you've got a 680i, how old is it, original boards weren't great for overclocking quads.

not sure how old it is,i got it about2 months ago,asus striker extreme,it has a sticker on the box that says intel quad-core ready and one that says support 45nm cpu if that helps?
