3.5" Card Reader in a 5.25" Slot

Hey everyone,

Hoping somebody can help me out with my predicament. I've just ordered all the bits to build a PC for a mate. He specified a card reader as a must so I duly added a 3.5" Akasa reader into my basket.

The case I ordered was the Antec 300.

Doh! No external 3.5" drive bay to install the lovely card reader into! :eek:

Can anyone offer any advice? Adaptor? Return card reader and buy "x" instead?

The bits arrive tomorrow and I'm going to look like a complete dolt.

Do a search for this on an auction site and it will be what you need. I used one for my 3.5" card reader...

Cool, thanks for the advice. I've actually convinced him to buy a portable card reader to keep things simple and not make the front of the case look too ugly.

I'm going to install the card reader on the front of my PC which is ugly already! (and has a 3.5" bay...)

I got an adapter off a well know auction site, essentially it's just a drive bay with the internals cut out
