Anyone else not have much luck with these? I always find they stop working for no reason, then I'm there wondering why my speakers aren't working and trying all sorts.

Then I swap the 3.5mm cable for another 3.5mm cable and bam, they instantly work

Whats wrong with these cables, I swapped the cable but I know if I use that cable again it will work, they seem to "short out" or something.

3.5mm cables are crap.

I've got over a dozen 3.5mm connectored stereo cables, some with female and some with male connectors and only one has ever failed. It was a cheap eBay thing so my own fault really. I've had a few headphone cables go over the years.

If the cable is static then it shouldn't fail. If you constantly remove and plug in and basically move it around then eventually the thin copper cable can snap.
