Hi,

I've recently been trying to purchase a new headset after my old Plantronics GameCom 367 snapped in half (argh!). I'm willing to spend a little more on a better headset. I first purchased a pair of Roccat Kave 5.1 but there was a constant hissing sound, presumably due to interference/noise probably from the USB connector. As a result I've decided to stay away from USB headsets....
I've found the Corsair Vengeance 1400 Gaming Headset and it looks to fit the bill, but I see no reviews and google isn't being very forthcoming in telling me about them either. Anyone tried these? Given I'm coming from a pretty cheap set I'll probably be easily pleased (as long as no more random noise like the Kave had :/)

Any input welcome! :)

Edit: My main other idea at the moment is to stay cheap and get the Plantronics GameCom 380 as at least that way my expectations won't be high thus it's much harder to be disappointed!

I have the Corsair 1300 headset, and for a £50 headset, it sounded a lot "tinnier" than I expected it to (running it with a Creative Z sound card too).

Never had any problems with my old school £20 plantronics headset, they are pretty good in my experience.

Might want to seek some other opinions about the Corsair headset though, mine may have been a one-off or something :S

I have the Roccat Kave 5.1 at the moment and don't have any sound anomalies, I do however find they get quite uncomfortable after an hour or so because they're so heavy.

I've been looking at the Sennheiser PC320 or PC330 as a lighter alternative. They might be worth a look for you as well as they use 3.5mm jack connectors, that and I've always liked the quality of sound from Sennheiser products.

Oh, hadn't checked that one out, yep it's another contender! Even lighter than the Corsair which in turn is lighter than the Plantronics which is lighter than my last Plantronics which were lighter than the Kave. Similar price to the corsair too. Just reading some reviews just now.

That said, I'm not sure weight is a huge problem for me, but lighter is no bad thing :)

Edit: I think the noise I heard on the Kave was due to my computers USB power not the headset, but as it'll be the same computer for whatever I choose I'm avoiding all the USB options, not saying it's the Kave being rubbish or anything! :)
