Ok my issue......

I have a 980 (non x) and a G1 Killer Board with 6gb 1800+ HyperX Ram and a H100i cooler.

I'm trying to get my machine to the 4ghz mark but i'm hitting a wall at around the 3.8 mark.

I have been trying to use the Easytune 6 app as the bios massively confuses me, My multiplier is set at 26 and I have basically just been increasing the base by 5 at a time.. not touching the voltages as they are auto.

Does anybody have the settings to get me past the 4ghz mark?

Cheers All ;)

I imagine you're going to need to touch the vCore. It's a big part of getting bigger clocks.

Try dropping the multiplier and increasing the bus. It's usually a combination of the two that get best clocks.

you might need around 1.35v cpu voltage for 4ghz depends on the chip
lower your ram speed to 1600mhz or roundabouts aswell

and bios will be far better than easytune

use a calculator to work out what bclk you need so 26x155blck = 4030ghz

ram multi can be 10x 155 = 1550 MHz ram speed

try with 1.35v qpi/vtt for integrated memory controller

and 1.5-1.6v for dram voltage

what cpu voltage did you use for 4.1ghz?

if you set cpu v back to normal and tell me what it defaults to in the bios,i can tell you what to try with dvid so that the volts/speed clocks down at idle

and full volts/speed at load,it would give you much cooler idle temps

I'm currently running my system at 20x222blk with a VCORE of 1.45. The Processor Idles between 29-37 degrees and with prime95 hits 56 at 100% after about 30mins.

It took me ages to get the VCORE correct as it would boot but as soon as I ran prime95 the system would freeze.

Oh I had to manually set the ram at 1600 (8) to stop the system from getting the frowny face of death (windows 8)
