Just bought a new case which has 120mm fans front, back and top. At the moment I have the front and top intake with just the rear exhaust. Is this the usual practice or not?

Also, which way do most of you have you PSU when its bottom mounted? I've just got an OCZ Modxstream 600w and have the fan pointed towards the bottom. The case does have a grille at the bottom for airflow.

Cheers.

I have the PSU faced the same way as you do. You should changee the top fan to exhaust, as heat usually rises up, so this will help.

Heat rises.

Top intake should be an exhaust.

Overall numbers of intakes/exhausts don't really matter if they are equal or not. Volume of air has to remain a constant.

I think more in than out is best or the same you could be better off having front intake rear intake and only top as exhaust depending on which cpu cooler you have.In general I think more in than out is ideal but it's a good idea to play around as a certain config might acheive slightly better temps.
Which case is it ?

Top and Rear = Exhaust
Front and Bottom = Intake
Psu = If there is venting available on the bottom, Then have the fan facing the bottom. If it is a solid bottom, Then have the fan on the top so it can get air.

It's this case.

I've changed to front intake and top and rear exhaust. I'll have a look at temps and change things accordingly if needed.
