3 D Mark 05 won't finnish

My system plays all tests but then at the end all i get is a black screen it does'nt lock up or die it just sits there and to get out of it i have to re-set ctrl-alt- del does not seem to work,,
card is 7800gtx clocked to 470/1.3
cpu is 3.0 gig clocked to 3.5
all else seems to work in windows on web the lot, i'm baffled help if you can pls.. :confused:

Could be a case of instability. Revert your CPU and and GPU back to stock. Re-run 3D Mark 05 and see if you get the same crash.

You will obviously get a lower mark, but it will determine if it is indeed due to instibilty.

Oh, It's spelt Nvidia...

sounds like overheating or instability to me, try stock settings ( clocks ) and check your temperatures.
Also what psu do you have (cant find it in sig)?

u aint putting u machine under any stress @ all doing that, but as u said it failing when it under 3d, would lower oc a little @ a time 2 c when & if it can pass 3d, when it does would run prime 8+ hrs 2 c if machine complety stable.
it failing cause u have oc 2 high, or ram timings could need adjusted. g/l
